Built to provide Mountain Fuel’s main office complex heating and air conditioning, the Total Energy plant is a completely self-sufficient unit for power generation. The plant is in a freestanding building and all of the power conduits run underground from the plant to the main complex.

The plant is run by three natural gas engines with a backup diesel engine. The two rotary chillers run off recirculated hot water that is used as coolant. The boiler is also powered by natural gas and heats the water for the entire complex.
