The Memorial Hospital of Converse County is the primary health care facility serving the needs of Converse County and eastern Wyoming. The hospital board saw the need to expand the existing facility in accordance with a calculated growth plan, which would allow for a larger base of doctors and available services.

The facility includes a two-story, 26,000 ft2 addition, adjoining approximately 5,000 ft2 of remodeled area on the second floor of the existing building. Layton expanded the hospital’s existing surgical suite to include an additional five recovery beds, a new procedure room and support spaces. The plans allow for the addition of a future third operating room.

On the first floor, a 3,000 ft2 outpatient clinic with existing office functions was incorporated. A 10,000 ft2 physical therapy suite, including a therapy pool, exercise area and hydrotherapy functions, fill the remainder of the first floor.
